HONG KONG, March 5 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Kuril Islands at 2056 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 50.60 km, was initially determined to be at 50.7571 degrees north latitude and 157.2934 degrees east longitude.
