6.1-magnitude quake hits Kazakhstan: China earthquake center

BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Kazakhstan at 0:38 a.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 42.6 degrees north latitude and 79.7 degrees east longitude with a depth of 20 km.
