OSAKA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua)-- A Starflyer airplane carrying 145 passengers and crew members from Kitakyushu Airport in the southwestern Japanese prefecture of Fukuoka was struck by lightning on Sunday night, local press reported on Monday.
The report said the airplane was struck by lightning at around 10 p.m. local time, about 25 minutes after it had taken off at the airport. And the passenger plane landed at Tokyo Haneda Airport safely at around 11 p.m. local time on Sunday with no injuries, the report added.
The report also said pilots noticed a crack in the plane's cockpit window after the lightning strike. The airline company and aviation authorities have started further inspection while investigating the direct cause of the damage.
