Britain, US to Show Evidence of Iraq's Banned Weapons: Blair
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Thursday that Britain and the United States would at last show evidence of Iraq's possession of banned weapons.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Thursday that Britain and the United States would at last show evidence of Iraq's possession of banned weapons.
Speaking at his monthly press briefing at Downing Street, Blair told reporters that Britain and the US were interviewing Iraqi scientists and experts, and getting a lot of information from them.
"I have absolutely no doubt at all that we will be able to show convincing and conclusive evidence of the existence of weapons of mass destruction," Blair said.
"I think when we present all that evidence, accumulate it over a period of time, with a process of people visiting all these sites and getting the evidence, I think it will be very, very clear," he added.
The US-led coalition forces launched the war against Iraq on the grounds that the country possessed weapons of mass destruction,an allegation that Saddam Hussein's regime denied.
So far, the US-led forces have found no definitive evidence of the alleged weapons.
