FIFA Admits Refereeing Errors at World Cup Finals
FIFA Sunday admitted that a number of refereeing errors have been made during the ongoing 2002 World Cup finals.

FIFA Sunday admitted that a number of refereeing errors have been made during the ongoing 2002 World Cup finals.
Senes Erzik of
Turkey
, chairman of the Referee's Committee, said in a statment read to a FIFA daily briefing that "a number of refereeing errors have been made but the referees had been well prepared for the World Cup."
Erzik added, "Every match is analysed in detail by the Committtee and every major incident during a match becomes subject of discussion."
But the FIFA official reiterated that as human beings, referees are subject to make mistakes.
"It's physically impossible to eliminate the chance of mistakes by referees," he said.
