China issues action plan for decarbonization, aiming to cut fossil fuel use, increase clean energy

China set to publish carbon footprint management plan

BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment will soon publish a plan to build and implement a unified carbon footprint management system, marking another step forward in the country's green drive. A carbon footprint is the sum of greenhouse gas emissions and removals by a product, individual, household, institution or business.

BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- China's steadfast efforts in advancing clean energy and fostering global cooperation have emerged as a crucial drive propelling the world towards a greener future, experts and entrepreneurs said. "China has emerged as a significant contributor and leader in the global development of clean energy," Yang Lei, vice dean of the Institute of Energy, Peking University, said at a sub-forum of the 14th China Overseas Investment Fair that concluded on Tuesday.

Chinese experts advocate for improved carbon emissions accounting system

SHANGHAI, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese experts on Wednesday called for building a more scientific and fair accounting system for carbon emissions. The experts made the call at the launch of a report on consumption-based carbon emissions held by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
