"I am confident the organizers of the Beijing Winter Olympics will do a good job, and the Beijing Winter Olympics will be very successful," Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita, Brazilian Ambassador to China, said in an online interview with People’s Daily Online. "Although Brazil is a tropical country, and not a major sporting nation when it comes to winter sports, there will still be some Brazilian athletes participating in this Winter Olympics.
Winter is a time of comfort and joy, the touch of a friendly hand and spectacular winter sports competitions. The 2022 Winter Olympics is approaching, which, according to the athletes we talk to, will bring a warm glow to our vision, thawing mind and muscle from the endless winter caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Bilateral ties between China and Finland will continue to prosper in multiple areas, while the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics will bring more opportunities for the two nations’ future cooperation, said Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, newly-appointed Finnish ambassador to China, during an exclusive interview with People’s Daily Online. Despite the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, Beijing is set to mark an historic achievement in February, when it will become the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics.
The Olympic flame for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is on display on the Flame Exhibition Tour at Shougang Park in Beijing, capital of China, on Dec. 13, 2021.
