SW China’s Yunnan welcomes spectacular explosion of 100 million butterflies

Recently, a spectacular “butterfly explosion” occurred at the Butterfly Valley in Ma’andi township, Jinping county, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China’s Yunnan Province. When the butterflies broke out of their chrysalises, they came together to form a unique and amazing scene.

During the summer, different species of egrets can be found across villages and near rivers in Changning county, Baoshan city, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, living in harmony with nature and local residents while getting along great with each other. Inside a forest, which is located in the eastern part of the county seat of Changning, the egrets leave their nests in the morning and then fly back home at dusk.

Changting county in China's Fujian becomes paradise for birds

A group of northern lapwings, a rare bird species listed as "near threatened" in 2016 by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species, were recently seen foraging gracefully in paddy fields in Hetian township, Changting county, Longyan city, east China's Fujian Province. The bird species has also been included in China's list of terrestrial wild animals which are under state protection and are of important ecological, scientific and social value.

Yongnianwa Wetland Park in Hebei provides ideal habitat for wild birds after decade of ecological restoration efforts

As of May this year, more than 130 kinds of resident birds and 30 types of migratory birds have been spotted in the Yongnianwa Wetland Park, Yongnian district of Handan city in north China's Hebei Province, according to data from the district's natural resources and planning bureau.
