Wolong Retreat is place where Zhuge Liang spent good time with his friends and teachers. Rebuilt in the 7th Year under the reign of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1729) on the original site of the thatched cottage, the 281-year-old architecture was under renovation by Longzhong Tourist Attraction Administration in 1982. Sitting against Mountain Longzhong and embraced by serene settings, Wolong Retreat is abundant with relics left by Zhuge Liang. From here, you can see the awesome panorama of Longzhong, and feel the pastoral beauty of Self-plowing Field. This architecture complex is comprised by eastern, middle and western yards. Both eastern and middle yards feature courtyard structure. While the eastern yard is named “Carefree”, the middle yard, which is the main body part of the architecture complex, is dubbed Wolong Retreat and was inscribed by Wang Renzhong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
