Beijing, Dec 24 (People's Daily Online) – Ronnie O'Sullivan, the English snooker champion, owns a Sina Weibo account and "checks the questions frequently". He also thinks Chinese food is the best in the world.
O'Sullivan will be playing in an exhibition game with Chinese female professional pool player Pan Xiaoting, dubbed ‘'the nine-ball pool queen'', in Yanzhou, Jining City, in east China's Shandong Province, on Dec. 28 2013.
Before his China trip, O'Sullivan gave an exclusive interview to People's Daily Online. He shared with us his interactions with his Weibo followers and told us that he would eat plenty of Chinese food.
O'Sullivan has a huge following all over the world, and China is no exception. He now has more than 140 thousand followers on his Sina Weibo account. "I check the questions frequently," O'Sullivan told People's Daily Online.
O'Sullivan has posted his match news on the Weibo account: "Can't wait to see my fans in China, look forward to playing with Pan Xiaoting. Will be a fantastic match! Land in Beijing on the 27th then straight to Yanzhou, Shandong Province".
O'Sullivan updates his account with the help of two assistants who understand Chinese. Generally he posts on Twitter, and his comments are then replicated onto Weibo. Sometimes he adds something different to Weibo, depending on how he feels.
O'Sullivan checks the questions asked by his Weibo followers frequently but finds it hard to reply to all of them as he has a busy schedule. However, he wants to thank everyone who asks a question and reassure them that he is not ignoring them.
O'Sullivan has been to many places in China. Chengdu is his favorite.
O'Sullivan likes Chinese food. He says he plans to eat dim sum, egg fried rice, sea bass, prawns and vegetables like pak choi, and enjoy Chinese green tea in China.
"In fact all Chinese food is great for me, it really is the best in the world - fact!!" he says.
O'Sullivan is the reigning World Snooker Champion, winning the title for the fifth time in 2013.
Pan is the first-ever professional pool player from China to play full-time on the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) tour.
