In 2012, the High-tech Zone achieved breakthrough in structure adjustment and mode transformation, and set up the modern industry system featured by independent innovation with strong endogenous motive power. In the whole year, registered enterprises' operation revenue reached RMB681 billion, gross industry output value reached RMB446.2 billion, and general budgetary revenue of local finance reached RMB5.77 billion. A fast growth rate of over 30% was maintained. Especially, in order to actively overcome the severe economic situation, a series of effective measures were put in place, which promoted above-scale gross industry output value to exceed RMB70 billion. The growth rate of above-scale industrial added value reached 17.2%. Amount of total foreign trade reached USD8.9 billion, accounting for more than 60% of the whole province. The High-tech Zone played a demonstration and leading role in building Xi'an into an international metropolis and constructing Shaanxi into a powerful province in West China. Through the development of 22 years, the Xi'an High-tech Zone has stronger international influence due to its strong industrial base, complete supporting facilities, good investment environment, and high-quality thoughtful service. Moreover, the High-tech Zone, which constantly increases its resources allocation ability in the world, again shows its industrial strength, scale advantage, and industrial cluster advantages.

In 2012, enterprises of the High-Tech Zone increased innovation capability constantly. 20 enterprises were set up on average per working day, with a year-on-year growth over 60%. In the whole year, more than 530 science and technology projects of all levels and all kinds were proposed based on national and provincial support program fund of RMB600 million. The enterprise technology upgrading investment of RMB6.6 billion was completed in total.
