Dong feels that the rise in caesarian sections is a serious problem.

"A C-section is less safe than a natural birth. There is a higher possibility of heavy bleeding and wet lung," said Dong.

Dong said he hopes media and society can give out more positive information on natural birth to change the current trend.

Wang, the woman who fought with her mother over a caesarean section after 17 hours of difficult labor, continued to suffer another 12 hours before giving birth.

"I don't hate my mother," she reflects. "After enduring the pain for such a long time, it's OK to look back and it's easier to recooperate after a natural birth. However, I don't suggest every woman try natural birth."
