Four years ago, Lujiacun village was a poor village. People here made a living by making and selling tofu.
On one occasion, a man found the poor but scenic village and he brought lots of opportunities to the village and changed the fate of the village. His name is Cheng Yanwei.
Cheng Yanwei, a member of Guilin Committee of China Democratic National Construction Association, has helped the locals establish seven tofu restaurants and donated nearly 200,000 yuan to the village in his own name.
Cheng's efforts were appreciated by the local government and they made a decision in rebuilding the lag-behind village in 2009.
The United Front Work Department of Guilin District Committee also contributed a lot to rebuilding Lujiacun Village.
Now, the riverside village has turned into a favorite scenic spot in Guilin. Villagers live in a rich and environment-friendly life.
