The former France international was sacked by Shanghai Shenhua just 5 games into CSL's 2012 season. Shenhua were earmarked as genuine contenders following the high-profile signing of Nicolas Anelka; however Tigana's side performed well below expectations in their first five matches, recording, two draws, two losses and just one win.
Tigana had a varied coaching career having taken management roles in his homeland with the likes of Lyon and Mocaco, while he also coached at Fulham and Besiktas.
