Born in 1948 in a small village of Yvelines, Christian Jolibois is a French writer, actor and director. Starting from 1989, he devoted himself to writing children's books and dramas. He has published dozens of works, and won several literature awards in France, including the Cherbourg Teenagers' Book Awards in 2001.

In 2006, the first book of "The Little Hen" series – "Who Wanted to See the Sea" published its Chinese version, which attracted nationwide attention and became a bestseller in subsequent years. As of 2012, the series comprises ten books telling different and interesting stories about the adventures of the hen Camela and her children.
