Drying autumn harvests becomes a tourist attraction in village in E China's Anhui

As morning mist slowly lifts, the yellow walls of the Yangchan earthen buildings become autumn's brightest touch in Yueyuan village, Shendu town, Shexian county, east China's Anhui Province.

Once the sun clears the ridgeline, villagers carry bamboo trays onto rooftops, drying platforms and windowsills. Golden corn, bright red peppers, pale green wax gourds and vibrant orange pumpkins go out tray by tray.

Around the Autumn Equinox each year, the village enters its busiest harvest season.

In recent years, as Yangchan's earthen buildings have gained popularity, tourism has extended beyond the autumn harvest and brought new life to the local cultural tourism industry. B&Bs, bars, shops selling creative cultural products and agritainment facilities have sprung up, each adding to the village's bustle.
