China's defense minister urges vigilance against hegemonism, militarism

BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun on Wednesday stressed the need to bear in mind the lessons of history and remain highly vigilant against all variants of hegemonism, militarism and historical revisionism.

Dong made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

The painful lessons of world wars and the disasters of present-day conflicts and turmoil warn that preventing crises before they erupt is a more crucial approach to security governance, Dong noted.
