Pinglu Canal set to open in Guangxi, boosting China-ASEAN connectivity

With a total investment of about 72.7 billion yuan (around $10.83 billion), the 134.2-km Pinglu Canal will open to navigation in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Sept. 16. It can accommodate vessels of up to 5,000 tonnes and is expected to strengthen China-ASEAN connectivity and economic cooperation.
