Hong Kong leads Asia in tech ecosystem rankings: white paper

HONG KONG, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's innovation and technology ecosystem has ranked first in Asia and fifth globally, according to a white paper jointly released by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and market analysis platform CB Insights on Monday.

Hong Kong scored 370 points in the assessment, which pinpointed startups with high-growth potential and future unicorns by evaluating four core metrics: business growth momentum, fundraising capacity, market potential and leadership strength.

The report highlighted that Asia is reshaping global innovation through a network of specialized clusters, with each leveraging distinct advantages across different stages of development.

The white paper was unveiled at HKSTP's 25th anniversary event. Established in 2001, the HKSTP has been dedicated to driving new industrialization and smart manufacturing, injecting fresh momentum into Hong Kong's innovation-driven economy.
