U.S. expresses condolences over mudslide hitting border port in China's Xizang

BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- David Perdue, ambassador of the United States to China, expressed condolences on behalf of the U.S. side over the casualties caused by a mudslide during his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Wednesday, according to a press release issued by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
The mudslide struck a port along the China-Nepal border in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on Wednesday morning.
