Weavers craft rainbow-like Dulong blankets with skillful hands in Nujiang, SW China's Yunnan
Weavers from the Dulong ethnic group in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province, turn colorful threads into living "rainbows." The over thousand-year-old Dulong blanket weaving craft has been passed down over generations and was listed as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item in Yunnan.
Through creative cultural products, the traditional rainbow patterns have been applied to scarves, bags, and other everyday items, becoming a hit among tourists and the market alike. The craft is also helping Dulong women realize their dream of working close to home.
