Travel influencers from Europe got a taste of the local culture in Xunpu, a fishing village in southeast China's Fujian Province, by trying their hand at the iconic flowery headwear.
The headwear is a hallmark of the "Xunpu Women Customs," recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. Once a tradition among fisherwomen who adorned their hair with flowers, the practice has now blossomed into a widespread fashion trend. Today, it can be seen on the streets, with men, women, children, and even travelers from around the world wearing it.
This headwear is often likened to a flowing "head garden." European travelers wandered through the streets, pausing to take photos by the oyster shell wall, where the timeless charm of the East was reflected in Western faces.
