Follow Xi: 'Ice and snow are as valuable as gold and silver'

As the ice and snow tourism season arrives, regions across China are tapping into their rich winter tourism resources to host engaging cultural and sporting events. These activities attract crowds of visitors to enjoy different seasonal sports, view beautiful winter landscapes, and support related economic growth.

According to a China Tourism Academy report released in early January, China's ice and snow economy exceeded 1 trillion yuan (about $143 billion) in 2025, with more than 14,000 related enterprises nationwide.

From a once niche market to a trillion-yuan industry, the ice and snow economy is flourishing like never before.
