A 1.4-meter-long, 52kg Chinese giant salamander has recently been found in the wild in SW China. Experts say it may be more than 200 years old.
The giant amphibian was discovered in a cave in southwest China's Chongqing and has been transferred for protection and further study.
Chinese giant salamander is critically endangered in the country, listed as a Class II Protected Species by the Chinese government.
