Xi's article on Party self-governance to be published
BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- An article by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on the Party's self-governance is set to be published on Tuesday.
The article by Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's 17th issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
The article calls on Party organizations at all levels, as well as Party members and officials, to strengthen their sense of responsibility and mission in the Party's self-governance.
Full and rigorous governance over the Party is the common responsibility of the entire Party, and no Party organization or leading official is exempt, according to the article.
Power must be matched by responsibility and those who fail to fulfill their duties must be held accountable, says the article, calling for establishing a targeted and well-conceived accountability mechanism to ensure that the responsibility for the Party's self-governance is fully fulfilled.
Party organizations and leading officials, especially chief officials, bear the primary responsibility for exercising full and rigorous self-governance of the party in their respective localities or departments, according to the article.
Leading officials at all levels should strictly fulfill their responsibilities and foster upright conduct, it adds.
