Chinese FM urges greater progress in China-South Korea strategic cooperative partnership

SEOUL, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Thursday that he hopes South Korea will firmly pursue a friendly policy toward China and take the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to make greater progress in the China-South Korea strategic cooperative partnership.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
Wang also noted that stronger China-South Korea ties will contribute to the development of both countries and to peace and prosperity in the region.
