Macao museum launches exhibition on classified movable properties
MACAO, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The Macao Museum on Friday inaugurated the "Macao's 1st Group of Classified Movable Properties Thematic Exhibition," showcasing around 100 selected items/sets of classified relics that reflect the city's history and cultural exchanges.
Organized by the museum and under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region government, the exhibition is divided into three thematic sections and features Kraak porcelain, handicrafts, paintings and calligraphy, antique maps, textiles, and statues.
According to the bureau, the exhibits illustrate Macao's historical role as a trading hub linking China and the West and highlight the integration of Chinese and Western civilizations.
The exhibition runs from July 11 to Aug. 16. The Macao Museum will also launch virtual tours of the exhibition through its official website.
