BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Tuesday urged the international community to stay on high alert against the rise of Japan's neo-militarism and take resolute moves to curb it.
Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a query, noting Japan has been pursuing remilitarization at full throttle, developing powerful intermediate and long-range offensive weapons, easing restrictions on export of lethal weapons, engaging in frequent interactions with countries from outside the region, expanding the scope of activities of its Self-Defense Forces and building a combat ready operational system.
