China to nurture emerging, future industries
BEIJING, March 5 (Xinhua) -- China will nurture emerging industries and industries of the future, according to a government work report submitted Thursday to the country's top legislature for deliberation.
In 2026, the country will foster emerging pillar industries such as integrated circuits, aviation and aerospace, biomedicine, and the low-altitude economy, according to the report.
China will nurture industries of the future such as future energy, quantum technology, embodied artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, and 6G technology, the report said.
According to a draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) also submitted Thursday, China will accelerate the development of emerging strategic industries including new-generation information technology, new energy, new materials, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, robotics, biomedicine, high-end equipment, and aviation and aerospace during the five-year period.
The draft outline also urged efforts to foster new drivers of economic growth such as quantum technology, biomanufacturing, hydrogen and nuclear fusion power, brain-computer interfaces, embodied artificial intelligence, and 6G mobile communications during the period.
