The first meeting of the China-US economic working group, co-chaired by vice-ministerial officials from the finance ministries on both sides, was held through video link on Tuesday.
The meeting was in line with the consensus reached during talks between Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng, who leads China's economic and trade discussions with the US, and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen in Beijing in July.
The two sides engaged in extensive, candid and constructive discussions on various topics, including the macroeconomic situation and policies of both nations and the global context, bilateral economic relations, and collaboration in addressing global challenges.
China expressed its concerns, and both sides agreed to maintain communication.
