Recently, the U.S. has enlisted certain countries to repeatedly amplify the so-called threat of "China's economic coercion." This has been used as an excuse to take "countermeasures" against China. It marks yet another instance in which the U.S. has smeared China through irresponsible accusations.

The U.S. intention behind accusing China of economic coercion is clear: to find pretexts for groundlessly suppressing China and to sow confusion among the public. By deploying this "new concept," the U.S. is framing its bullying as self-defense against "coercion."

However, the international community is well aware of who arbitrarily imposes sanctions, exercises long-arm jurisdiction, and practices "coercive diplomacy." In contrast, China advances mutually beneficial cooperation and common development that is more inclusive, beneficial and balanced.

The U.S. strategy of fabricating lies to contain China only accelerates the erosion of Washington's credibility and helps more people know the truth.
