Global registration for 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation begins

The Teochew International Federation has officially kicked off registration for the 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation, which is slated to be held at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) International Conference Center in Boao, south China's Hainan Province, from Dec. 3 to 5, 2022.

The online registration channel will soon be made available on the WeChat accounts of the Teochew International Federation and the 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation, according to a press conference on global registration for the event held on Oct. 12, 2022.

Consisting of nine major activities, including a promotion activity for Hainan Free Trade Port, the 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation aims to help Teochew people around the world enjoy new opportunities brought by the free trade port, said executives of the Teochew International Federation at the press conference.

The preparatory committee of the 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation will invite representatives of 158 groups of Teochew people in 35 countries and regions, including the US, Canada, France, New Zealand, and Singapore, to take part in the event via online and offline channels, according to the executives.

Established by global elites and business leaders of the Teochew people, the Teochew International Federation is an international organization made up of members in more than 30 countries and regions all over the world.

As one of the major events of the Teochew International Federation, the Convention of Teochew International Federation is among the grand events held by overseas Chinese that enjoy widespread influence and great international popularity. Since 1981, the Convention of Teochew International Federation has been held in different parts of the world on 20 occasions. The 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation will mark the fifth time that the event has been held in China.

During this year's convention, the Teochew International Federation will take the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port as a historic opportunity to give play to the role of the Convention of Teochew International Federation in promoting unity and pooling the strength of the Teochew people, and also involve more Teochew businesspeople in the construction of the free trade port, said Hong Jiangyou, chairman of the preparatory committee of the 21st Convention of Teochew International Federation.
