(People's Daily Online)    16:02, December 27, 2019

On Dec. 20, the 2019 Wings for Love World Cup Jinggu Trial kicked off in Jinggu County, Pu'er City.

The 2019 Wings for Love World Cup Jinggu Trial is a global official event for the World Cup of Wingsuit Flying. Fifteen athletes from 11 countries including China, the United States, Britain, France, Switzerland, and Australia participated in the competition. The trials lasted 3 days.

Wingsuit Flying, also known as short-range sky gliding, refers to athletes wearing winged flying equipment, clothing and parachute jumping from airplanes, hot air balloons, cliff cliffs, high-rise buildings and other places to fly. The player uses limb movements to control the direction of gliding, and uses his body to perform unpowered aerial flight. At the height reaching the safety limit, the athlete will open the parachute to land smoothly.

This is the third consecutive year that Jinggu County has held the Wingsuit Flying international trials after 2017 and 2018.

Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, 130 kilometers from Pu'er City and 466 kilometers from Kunming City.
