In order to promote the industrial cooperation with Japan and increase the rate of opening-up, a Changsha delegation, led by Hu Henghua, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Standing Committee member and CPC Changsha Municipal Committee secretary, visited Japan between April 8 and 12. The visit aimed to promote economic and trade cooperation and friendly exchange. During the tour, Hu had a series of fruitful talks with Japanese government leaders at various levels and presidents of dozens of enterprises and universities. They reached broad consensus on strengthening friendly exchange, deepening pragmatic cooperation, and accelerating relevant projects.
Intelligent and green cars were the focus of this visit. Hu and his delegation visited well-known enterprises and institutions of higher learning, such as Mitsubishi Motors, Aisin Seiki, Kansai Paint, and the University of Tokyo. They also organized the Changsha, China and Nagoya, Japan Auto Parts Suppliers Investment Seminar in Nagoya, Japan.
Hu also visited Liu Xiaojun, consul general of the People’s Republic of China in Nagoya. Liu welcomed the Changsha delegation and related that Nagoya is an automobile and parts industry base with Toyota as its core. It is also the largest manufacturing center in Japan. Japan attaches great importance to the Chinese market and Changsha’s strong industrial and technological strengths. He hoped that this visit will yield fruitful results.
Hu thanked the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Nagoya for supporting Changsha’s promotional activities. Nagoya is an important industrial city in Japan. He hoped that Changsha will further strengthen cooperation with it in the areas of automobiles and auto parts.
Changsha and Kagoshima have been sister cities since 1982. Over the past 37 years, there have been frequent exchanges, and a deepened friendship. They have conducted fruitful exchanges and cooperation in personnel training, economy and trade, culture, education, sports, and tourism.
At the invitation of the Kagoshima Municipal Government, Hu visited Kagoshima. He met with Kagoshima Mayor Hiroyuki Mori and Parliament Speaker Ken Yamaguchi, and had in-depth talks with them on economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two cities. They hoped that, with this visit as a new starting point, they will:
-strengthen policy exchanges;
-facilitate connection;
-smooth trade relationships;
-increase financing;
-further the common aspiration of the people; and,
-jointly push for more fruitful results in sister city construction.
