The Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce announced on March 26 that, Changsha’s investment maintained a steady growth in the first two months of 2019. Changsha actually utilized 973 million USD of foreign capital, an increase of 12% over last year; and 18.4 billion CNY of capital from outside Hunan and within China, up 16.9 %.
Manufacturing is favored by foreign investors. In January and February, the foreign capital utilized in the manufacturing industry was 264 million USD, accounting for 27.13% of the total; and that in the service industry was 706 million USD, up 41.23%. Among the service industry, the real estate industry grew rapidly and its actually utilized foreign capital amounted to 356 million USD.
Hong Kong was the most important source of foreign investment, and the Pearl River Delta, Beijing, and the Yangtze River Delta were still the main sources of domestic investment. Changsha actually utilized 891 million USD of capital from Hong Kong, rising by 46.19 % over the same period of last year.
