The 2019 Changsha Spring Festival Symposium for Foreign-invested Enterprises was held on January 16, 2019. Mayor Hu Zhongxiong attended the symposium and said that foreign investment is important for Changsha’s economic development. In 2019, Changsha will further optimize its business environment to help foreign-invested enterprises grow bigger and stronger and join hands with these enterprises to create a better future.
In 2018, Changsha utilized 5.78 billion USD in foreign capital, up 10% from last year. It introduced 39 Top 500 enterprise projects, and 156 Top 500 enterprises such as Flextronics and Continental Group. At the symposium, representatives from 16 foreign-invested enterprises said that their enterprises have greatly benefited from the favorable policies issued by the Changsha government to support real economy development.
Hu Zhongxiong expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the foreign-invested enterprises for choosing Changsha, investing in Changsha, and taking root in Changsha. He said that the problems and suggestions put forward by these enterprises will be sorted out and handled in a timely manner.
He stressed that, in order to facilitate the efficient flow of people, logistics, and capital, and build Changsha into a new opening-up highland in the inland area, Changsha will:
-resolutely implement the innovation-oriented opening and development strategy;
-further promote opening-up to the outside world;
-launch another 8 international cargo and passenger flights;
-strengthen ties and exchanges with countries along the “Belt and Road”;
-deepen Changsha Port’s connection with Yueyang Chenglingji Port and Shanghai Port in water transportation; and,
-take full advantages of platforms like Changsha Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the market procurement trade mode pilot- Gaoqiao Grand Market to provide more convenient, efficient, and high-quality services.
