On December 25, the Changsha Huanghua International Airport was awarded International Four-Star Airport Rating by Skytrax, the international air transport rating organization. It is the fifth airport of its kind in the Chinese mainland and the first in central China. Those airports with an annual passenger capacity of over ten million will be awarded four-star rating.
Headquartered in the United Kingdom, Skytrax is an authoritative evaluation and certification institution in the international civil aviation industry. It conducts star ratings for the whole aviation service process of global airports. Four-star rating is the leading level of the industry, and five-star rating is the highest one.
At the end of 2017, the airport started to build itself into a Skytrax international four-star airport. It has improved more than 300 service projects in accordance with the international standards, including the restoration of Terminal 1, reconstruction of international boarding bridges, improvement of airport public area environment, restructuring of international service process, and improvement of staff service level.
For example, it has installed charging piles in the seats at the boarding gate; upgraded facilities for mothers, infants, and disabled passengers; and improved the English proficiency of international (regional) flight attendants.
“The Changsha Huanghua International Airport has changed a lot this year. The service facilities are becoming more and more personalized. The airport is very clean and tidy. The staff’s foreign language skills have been greatly improved,” said Skytrax Chairman Edward in a recent field review.
Hunan Airport Group said that the airport will adhere to the passenger-centered principle, and continue to improve its services. In the next step, it will strive to build itself into a Skytrax international five-star airport and continue to provide strong support for Hunan’s opening-up.
