Changsha Foreign Trade in First 11 Months Totals 112.59 Bln CNY

The Changsha Customs announced on December 11 that, between January and November, Changsha’s total import and export values were 112.59 billion CNY, exceeding the 2017 annual total, up 37% from last year, accounting for 41.7% of the total import and export values of the province.

The growth rate was 11.2 percentage points higher than the whole province, and 25.9 percentage points higher than the country. The exports were 70.73 billion CNY, rising 36.2%, while imports were 41.86 billion CNY, rising 38.3%.

In November, Changsha’s imports and exports totaled 14.67 billion CNY, increasing by 43.2%, marking a new monthly record. The exports were 10.67 billion CNY, up 44.4%; and the imports 4.01 billion CNY, up 39.9%.

Mechanical and electrical products were main imported and exported commodities in Changsha. Between January and November, the imports and exports of these products totaled 62.21 billion CNY, more than half of the total import and export values over the same period. The exports were 35.84 billion CNY, up 26%, accounting for 50.7% of Changsha’s total exports over the same period. The imports of high-tech products grew rapidly, reaching 13.49 billion CNY, up 71.8%.

In terms of specific commodities, Changsha exported:

- garments and accessories valued at 4.03 billion CNY, an increase of 43.4%;

- entertainment products valued at 3.31 billion CNY, up 26.6%;

- fireworks and firecrackers of 2.78 billion CNY, up 18.9%;

- steel of 2.22 billion CNY, up 37.9%, and;

- cars valued at 2.09 billion CNY.

Changsha imported:

- integrated circuits of 6.07 billion CNY, an increase of 1.5 times;

- auto parts of 4.49 billion CNY, up 3.2%;

- agricultural products of 4.29 billion CNY, up 61.4 %;

- dairy products of 2.41 billion CNY, up 85.9 %.
