Yuhua Ranked 19th among China’s Top 100 Industrial Districts

(People's Daily Online)    13:27, November 27, 2018

The “China County Industrial Economic Development Forum (2018)” was held in Beijing last week. It was hosted by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). At the forum, a white paper entitled "Development Reports of China's Top 100 Industrial Counties (Cities) and Top 100 Industrial Districts (2018)" was published. Yuhua District of Changsha, Hunan ranked 19th on the list of China’s Top 100 Industrial Districts. It is the second time that Yuhua District has ranked among the country’s top 20 industrial districts since the first release of China's Top 100 Industrial Districts last year.

Founded in 1957, CAICT is a scientific research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. It is agreed that the list released by the CAICT is highly professional and authoritative.

The selection of China’s top 100 industrial districts is made based on important indicators such as industrial added value, enterprise profits, per capita disposable income, industrial investment, and the number of invention patents per 10,000 population.

Industrial prosperity leads to economic prosperity, and economic prosperity leads to regional prosperity. Between January and October this year, industrial added value from Yuhua District (including China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co., Ltd.) above a designated size reached 67.8 billion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%; the industrial added value from Yuhua District (excluding China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co., Ltd.) above a designated size reached 24.1 billion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%. Between January and September this year, the output value of high-tech industries in the district reached 122.1 billion CNY, with a year-on-year growth rate of 16.9% and a contribution rate of 37.6%.

Thanks to this, Yuhua's regional economy has also been soaring. Between January and June this year, Yuhua achieved a regional GDP of 70.3 billion CNY (including Changsha Cigarette Factory, the same below), an increase of 10.1%. The general public budget revenue was 8.7 billion CNY, an increase of 9.6%. The overall tax revenue reached 7.3 billion CNY, an increase of 11.3%. Yuhua District has been ranked as one of “China’s Top 100 Districts in Comprehensive Strength” for many years.
