The 2018 China Changsha Cultural Creativity Design Competition started with a reward of up to 1 million yuan ($144,778) in mid-August.
According to a press conference held by the Changsha Municipal People's Government, the competition has two categories: cultural creativity and animation design products. Three groups of participants, including professional designers, college students, and primary and secondary school students will compete for 12 gold medals, 24 silver medals, and 60 bronze medals.
Driven by its titles City of Media Arts and Culture City of East Asia, Changsha has become an important cultural innovation, operation, trading, and experience center. The cultural competition is not only great for Changsha's cultural industry, but also a good way to enhance the soft power of Changsha.
Kang Zhenlin, deputy head of the Tianxin district people's government, said that the Changsha Cultural Creativity Design Competition was included in the national cultural industrial park service capacity enhancement program of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It requires participants to dig deep into Changsha culture and create cultural designs that can put be produced and marketed.
In addition, the organizing committee of the competition will carry out copyright registration services through the Hunan Copyright Workstation to protect the intellectual property rights of the participants. It also intends to open up a copyright trading platform for contestants to make their designs produce real value.
The competition is directed by the Changsha Municipal People's Government and sponsored by Changsha Tianxin district people's government and Changsha Tianxin Culture Industrial Park. Participants can register and upload their creative works through the official website of the Changsha Tianxin Culture Industry Park Management Committee from Aug 15 to Dec 31.
