The Chinese version of classic Broadway musical "The Sound of Music" premiered at the Meixihu International Culture & Arts Center Grand Theater in early August.

The story of The Sound of Music happened in Salzburg, Austria in 1938, a young and active nun named Maria came to the von Trapp’s family to work as a nanny for his seven children. Under the guidance of Maria, the children who lacked maternal love regained their love for music and the warmth of their family. Colonel von Trapp, who had been indifferent and harsh, was also attracted by the purity and kindness of Maria. They felt in love and got married. However, just after their honeymoon, the quiet life of Trapp’s was broken by the Nazi occupation of Austria. Facing the threat of the Nazis, they used the music performance as a cover, with the help of other nuns, succeeded in turning over the Alps to freedom and happiness.　

Many familiar songs were performed including “Do-Re-Mi”, “Edelweiss” and“The Lonely Goatherd”. The charming of this classic musical work will last for three generations, allowing audiences to enjoy themselves a lot.
