On May 11, Hunan Vice Governor He He Baoxiang met in Changsha with Bhokin Bhalakula, president of the Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association and former Thai Deputy Prime Minister.
Vice Governor He Baoxiang said that Hunan and Thailand have kept a closer contact in recent years, and direct flights from Changsha to Bangkok and Chiang Mai have been opened. Last year, bilateral trade volume totaled 570 million USD, an increase of 22% year-on-year, and 96 Hunan enterprises invested in Thailand. Hunan has increasingly focused on friendly exchanges and economic and trade cooperation with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. The two sides share broad space for cooperation in economy, culture, and tourism. He added, “We hope to take this visit of Mr. Bhokin Bhalakula as an opportunity for both sides to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.”
Bhokin Bhalakula said that cooperation and exchanges between the two sides cannot be separated from each other’s efforts and he hoped to deepen cooperation with Hunan in such fields as maglev train, elderly care, tourism, trade, logistics, agriculture, and Internet.
