The high-end underground engineering equipment manufacturing base has now completed and put into production recently. It is located in the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (CRCHI) No.2 Industrial Park, Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone. With an investment of 5 billion CNY and covering an area of 1000-mu (67 ha.), it is the largest of its kind worldwide.
The base started construction in last July. It is mainly engaged in production of high-end intelligent equipment used in drilling and blasting tunnel construction, whole section rock tunnel boring machine (TBM), and shield remanufacturing equipment, integrating R&D, manufacturing, service, and remanufacturing. Based on high-rack stereoscopic warehouse, intelligent logistics systems, robotic workstations, and intelligent inspection equipment, the base achieves automated manufacturing of key components.
Intelligent production makes products more intelligent and international. In the workshop, five TBMs are being assembled, and one of them is designed for the Istanbul metro project in Turkey. This is China’s first domestically-made one that has been exported to Europe with independent intellectual property rights.
CPC CRCHI Committee Secretary and Board Chairman Liu Feixiang introduced that the company is marching toward the goal of full-scale intelligent equipment. According to preliminary calculations, the base will bring 3,000 new jobs and add an annual output value of more than 5 billion CNY.
