Conference on Work for Changsha’s Industry and Informatization in 2018 was held on Feb 28. Hu Zhongxiong, deputy Party secretary of Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC and acting Mayor of Changsha, attended the conference.
Hu stressed that Changsha should stimulate high-quality development of its industries with a focus on the development and construction of industry, industrial parks and enterprises.
Last year, industry contributed to 36.7 percent of Changsha’s GDP growth. The city garnered industrial added value of over 353.3 billion yuan, the fourth largest among capital cities. The growth rate of industrial added value remained above 8 percent for eight consecutive months, a record performance in the past three years.
Changsha attracted a total of 221.18 billion yuan in its industrial investment, up 6.7 percent year-on-year. The number of industrial firms above the designated size reached 2872.
In 2018, Changsha is expected to raise the added value of its industry above the designated size by 8.5 percent and that in industrial parks by over 13.1 percent. It will also paln to increase the number of industiral firms above the designated size to 220-plus.
