
Wang Sanyun, vice chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of the 12th National People's Congress, is being investigated for "severe disciplinary violations," the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said Tuesday.
Wang has been in his position since April. Prior to that, he had served as the secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for over five years.
He also worked as the vice secretary of Anhui, Fujian, Sichuan, and Guizhou Provincial Committees of the CPC.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, at least 240 senior officials and more than 1 million lower-level officials have been investigated.
