On Dec. 29, migrant birds numbering in the tens of thousands appeared across the wetland of Jiaozhou Bay in eastern China's Shandong province. With decreasing temperatures, more and more foraging migrant birds are gathering on the wetland, including chevalier guignettes, eastern curlews, pied avocet and more. In addition, nearly 1,000 berganders and mallards have been spotted for the first time at the bay.
