In the fourth national cultural museum evaluation and rating campaign organized by the Ministry of Culture, ten cultural museums in Xiangyang were up to the third-class standard or above. Of these museums, Nanzhang Cultural Museum and Gucheng Cultural Museum were named the "National First-Class Cultural Museums".
