A new invention by a retired teacher has caused a major stir in Zhouzhi County, Shaanxi province.
The former school dean created a kind of paper made from panda feces, mulberry bark and kiwifruit tree vines. It took the inventor, Liu Xiaodong, two years and 10 attempts before the paper was a success.
Liu used all his savings to produce the paper. He currently runs a training workshop to teach the craft. Every day, the workshop instructs middle and primary school students as well as enthusiasts, who simply wish to visit and learn.
