"Leaves may be the oldest, simplest and most convenient musical instrument," said Qiu, 51, the best-known leaf-blowing musician in China. "I've so far performed in more than 30 countries." Qiu as a child used to enjoy hearing a blind fisherman blow the leaf, and he learned the technique from his father, a talented all-round high school music teacher.
