Photos show 31-year-old Yu Haibo, a wax statue designer in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, together with his waxworks in his studio. Yu has been making waxworks for 10 years. He explained to reporters that a wax statue starts with the close examination of a photo and careful measurements that can encompass more than 200 details on a person's face. The carving process requires dozens of tools, and the making of a wax statue's head usually takes four to five days. Another month is required to "implant" some 30,000 hairs onto the wax head.
